Palm oil industry in Ivory Coast, Africa
Last year, the first Africa palm oil industry forum is held by AIPH in Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Many state officers and representitives from Liberia, Ghana, Guinea, Congo etc participate in the forum.
The Secretary of Agriculture department from Ivory Cast, Mamadou Sangafowa said in the forum, the Ivory Coast state has already made plan to develop palm oil industry. Till the year 2020, total palm oil capacity in Ivory Coast can reach 600,000 t/year, which can make Ivory Coast become rank of large capacity country of palm oil. According to American Agriculture department data, the total palm oil capacity in Ivory Coast is 390,000t/year, ranks second in Africa palm oil industry; Nigeria ranks first with anual capacity 910,000ton. But all palm oil capacity is far less than Indonesia(28,500,000ton); Malaysia(19,000,000ton);
Thailand(2,000,000ton).
As the increasing demand of palm oil all over the world, palm oil industry is becoming a very promissing industry, especially in Africa.
